🏆 RUZ 2025/26 SEASON AWARDS 🏆

At our AGM on 29 August, we looked back at the 2025/26 season and celebrated some of the people who made it one to remember — for sporting excellence, commitment to the club, looking after their teammates… and a few slightly more questionable achievements. 🌲🍍

🏆 PLAYER OF THE YEAR — SELE THOMAS
Our 2025/26 Player of the Year, based on performance points awarded by the captain and coaching staff after every game throughout the season. A well-deserved recognition of an outstanding season. 🔥

🍍 GOLDEN PINEAPPLE — MATT MILLAR
For an unforgettable cosplay as a certain religious character during the club tour in Eindhoven. Some things that happen on tour apparently do make it back to Zürich.

🚑 INJURY OF THE YEAR — GEOFFREY CHINOT
Five minutes into the game. One knock-on. One suspiciously timed injury immediately afterwards. Coincidence? The AGM has spoken. 🕵️‍♂️

💙 RUZ CLUB AWARD — JARI PERROTTA
Only 18 months at RUZ, but already an enormous presence both on and off the pitch. A recognition of the impact Jari has made on the club in such a short time.

🗳️ PLAYERS’ CHOICE — ROMAN SCHWARZENBACH
Chosen by the RUZ players themselves through this year’s AGM vote. Recognition from your own teammates hits differently. 👏

🤝 “TINU” FAIRPLAY AWARD — MIKAIL LEVASSEUR
For his tireless commitment to the team, regularly checking in with teammates, speaking openly about his own mental health, and being there for those going through difficult moments. Rugby is about much more than what happens on the pitch.

🚀 BREAKTHROUGH PLAYER OF THE YEAR — LUKAS GRUMMT
Lukas joined RUZ in 2025 and wasted no time making his mark. A huge impact in his first season and plenty more to come. 👀
