Due to the current corona situation, Rugby Union Zurich has decided to suspend regular training and matches immediately until further notice. We are doing this on the one hand to protect the health and professional future of our players. On the other hand, we want to do our part to contain the pandemic by voluntarily giving up our activities early. In contrast to other measures, the pause in amateur sport will at least remain without far-reaching economic consequences.
At the end of November, the Swiss Rugby Union will take stock of the cancelled matches and examine whether a regular closure of the current season in spring 2021 is still possible.
We were all very pleased when rugby could be played again after the lockdown. Now we have to give up our passion once again and show solidarity with a society that is currently doing everything possible to get the virus under control. Unfortunately, tackles, rucks, mauls and scrums do not fit into the picture…
At this point we would like to thank all spectators for their support during the last home games and all involved for the successful implementation of the RUZ corona protection concept.
